USPS Confirm Service > Mail Tracking


Below is a sample of what you would see on your mail tracking home page. The table below shows a list of all active and past campaigns with important summary information. This is actual live tracking data that will update as scans come in from the USPS. Personal information in these demo reports have been altered for display purposes to protect privacy.

The 'Pieces' column shows the actual number of direct mail pieces that corresponding to the mailing list used for each mailing.

The 'Scanned' columns shows how many pieces have been scanned by USPS sorting equipment to date. This number is updated every 4 hours, 24 hours a day. Because of the nature of how and when mail gets scanned, not all pieces will receive scan data. Average mail campaigns receive 85% or higher scan rates.

The 'Delivered' columns show how many peices have delivered based on scan information from USPS. A "Stop the Clock" scan tells us that the piece has been through final sorting and will be given to the carrier for delivery. Not all peices that were previously scanned receive "Stop the Clock" scans. Mail may receive initial sorting at automated facilities, then get passed to a facility that does manual sorting or has equipment that is not able to record scans. Typical reported 'Delivered' rates are 85% or higher and all of the pieces are considered delivered when the delivery rate no longer increases.
